HX rings are bidirectional, meaning they seal equally well against pressure from either side. This makes them ideal for subsea applications where external hydrostatic pressure can exceed internal process pressure. IX and AX rings are typically unidirectional.
There is no practical pressure limit – they have been tested in excess of 20,000 psi. The actual limit depends on the flange design and material strength. For extreme HPHT conditions, we recommend 718 grade.
Yes. Our HX seal rings are manufactured from materials that meet NACE MR0175 / MR0103 hardness limits. Grades 625 and 718 are commonly used in sour service environments.
